We are incredibly proud to announce that Jade Hogg of Alpine Care Home has been awarded the Dementia Carer Award at the Great British Care Awards South East Region — a remarkable achievement and a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, compassion, and commitment to outstanding dementia care.
Jade has devoted 22 years to Health and Social Care, beginning her career at just 16 years old. From supporting adults with profound learning disabilities to working closely with older people living with dementia, she has built a wealth of knowledge and experience that shines through in every interaction. For Jade, caring isn’t just a profession — it’s part of who she is.
At the heart of Jade’s work is a deep belief in person-centred support. She takes the time to truly understand every resident: their life stories, preferences, routines, and the little things that help them feel safe, valued, and included. Whether offering reassurance during a difficult moment or bringing laughter to the day, Jade’s calm and gentle presence makes a meaningful difference.
Her influence extends far beyond her own role. Jade is generous with her experience, guiding colleagues and strengthening dementia-friendly practice throughout our home. Her thoughtful insights and creativity inspire the whole team, which can be seen in everything from soothing night routines to the calming use of light and environment.
During Dementia Action Week 2025, Jade played a key role in creating an inclusive and impactful presentation that opened up important conversations among residents, families, and staff — a moment that truly demonstrated her ability to connect, educate, and empower others.
Jade embodies the values we are most proud of: compassion, curiosity, dignity, and a lifelong commitment to learning. Her warmth, humour, and unwavering dedication brighten lives every single day.
