I arrived at Ashcroft House following a major operation in hospital for cancer, through social services. My first impressions were of a clean and comfortable surrounding. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Everything felt – and still is – a high-quality and effective service, two years on nearly! With plenty of activities available to fill the days. And while promoting a “back to health” service setting.

Resident

I have been well supported through my illnesses/condition whilst I have been here during the last 3 1/2 years. My medication is provided promptly each day, along with other needs I have on a daily basis. Overall I am very satisfied with all services provided for me.

I have been working in the health and social sector for more than 5 years now, I joined Ashcroft house two and a half years ago where I began as a carer. Recently I joined the activities team which I absolutely love. I have the pleasure of enhancing their social lives and bringing them happiness while they are with us. I love being able to be there for everyone even if it is just to have a chat.

I have more than 10 years experience in Hospitality management. I then decided to help my husband in running our family furniture business for few years. During Covid-19 lockdown our family business closed down. To financially support my family I decided to join to a care home environment in Ashcroft Nursing Home. I then furthered my role working as an activity co-ordinator with the same organisation.
