Violet Merrit of Blair House has been awarded the prestigious Dementia Care Awards 2025 in the category of Inspiring Volunteer Award
We are proud to announce that Violet Merrit, a much-loved volunteer at Blair House, has been awarded the Inspiring Volunteer Award at the Dementia Care Awards 2025.
Violet has been part of the Regal Care community since 2015, starting as a housekeeper before moving on to roles in laundry and activities. Since retiring, Violet has continued to give her time and energy as a volunteer, visiting Blair House every Wednesday to sit with residents, lead activities, and share in moments of joy and companionship.
Violet has completed in-house training and brings her natural warmth, dedication, and positivity to everything she does. In addition to supporting our home, she also volunteers at a local charity shop.
Seeing the residents smile and have fun is what keeps her going, and her kindness leaves a lasting impact on everyone around her.
We are thrilled to see Violet’s generosity and spirit recognised with this award. Thank you, Violet, for all that you do!
