Life at Regal Care

Activities

My dad has been a resident at The Hollies since January 2020 and has a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia. He has always received dignified, kind and professional care there. It really has become like a second family to Dad who has given him a very important quality of life at this stage in his dementia.

Championing Dementia Awareness and Support

In each of our homes we elect a dedicated Dementia Champion to help bring awareness to the condition and spearhead our dementia-friendly activities, ensuring our homes are always at the forefront of dementia-friendly care.

We conduct several dementia-friendly activities that help stimulate residents and keep their cognitive function active such as quizzes, puzzles, and memory games. These activities are designed to engage the mind, promote social interaction, and provide a sense of achievement for our residents.

Person-Centred, Community Minded

When in care, it’s important to keep residents connected with their community to enhance their well-being, reduce feelings of loneliness and provide intergenerational connections for everyone involved.

Each of our homes are integrated into their local community with deep relationships with local schools, nurseries, parishes and charitable organisations such as The Royal Legion and The Salvation Army.

Heartfelt Stories

Here at Regal Care, we celebrate the stories of the many individuals who choose to call our homes their own. We help residents take a trip down memory lane, re-visiting fond moments in history or their own memories by incorporating them into special, personalised activities.

St Catherine’s is Mum’s second nursing home, and up to press, it’s the best. Mum is well looked after, with loving care. This nursing home is so good I don’t have any guilt now when I leave Mum to come home. Her surroundings are always clean, and the food is acceptable. The staff are brilliant, and one member, what a star she is – every care home should have one of her!

St Catherine’s Nursing Home

I can’t fault the staff for their caring nature and the genuine way that they care for the residents. All the staff care for the residents in a caring and professional way. I know that my mother is being well cared for, and this gives me peace of mind.

I arrived at Ashcroft House following a major operation in hospital for cancer, through social services. My first impressions were of a clean and comfortable surrounding. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Everything felt – and still is – a high-quality and effective service, two years on nearly! With plenty of activities available to fill the days. And while promoting a “back to health” service setting.

I have been well supported through my illnesses/condition whilst I have been here during the last 3 1/2 years. My medication is provided promptly each day, along with other needs I have on a daily basis. Overall I am very satisfied with all services provided for me.

Mum has received superb care at Hawthorn Lodge. The staff go above and beyond in their daily care and support and in accompanying her to hospital and doctor’s appointments. The atmosphere is friendly and upbeat like a home from home and visitors are made most welcome. There are celebrations like fireworks night and birthdays and various activities and treats for residents. Mum is happy and stimulated and really loves the food provided. The dedicated and caring staff treat all the residents as individuals and mum is thriving socially.

Keeping Active

Proper health and fitness matters at any age, but especially for those in care. By keeping active, residents can stay healthy, improve their mental well-being, and retain mobility and physical function which all contribute to a more fulfilling and independent life.

We encourage residents to stay active by regularly bringing in licensed fitness providers to host classes and exercise sessions to keep everyone moving!
