These nominations mean so much because they celebrate the people behind the care, the teams who go above and beyond to make each day meaningful for our residents.
The Heart & Home Award is all about creating an environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly part of a community. At both Blair House and Alpine Care, this is something you can feel the moment you walk in. It’s in the warm welcomes, the laughter shared, and the genuine relationships built over time. Our teams don’t just provide care, they create a place where people feel they belong.
The nomination for the Blair House Shift Leaders Team in the Dementia Care Team Award is equally special. Supporting those living with dementia requires patience, understanding, and a deeply person-centred approach. This team brings all of that and more, using creativity, empathy, and skill to ensure every individual is treated with dignity and supported in a way that truly makes a difference to their quality of life. Just as importantly, they are there for families too, offering reassurance and guidance when it’s needed most.
What makes us proudest is that these nominations reflect the everyday moments, the small acts of kindness, the extra time given, and the effort to understand each resident as an individual. That’s where real care lives.
