Care, and Comfort in the Heart of Southborough

The Hollies Care Home in Tunbridge Wells is a beautiful Georgian house set back on a quiet, leafy street in Southborough. With 25 rooms, the home offers a warm, comfortable, and homely environment filled with plenty of character and charm. To the rear, our large, garden provides a peaceful retreat, featuring a patio area, plenty of seating, and a ramp for easy access – perfect for enjoying the summer months.

The home is located on the outskirts of town, however, is still close to a parade of shops, parks, and restaurants, offering both convenience and a sense of community. The Hollies also enjoys strong ties with St. Dunstan’s Church, whose members visit weekly to offer communion and companionship to our residents.

The staff at the Hollies were fabulous when caring for my mother, who had dementia and other conditions. They were always on the ball, particularly when it came to dealing with multiple outside agencies. A staff member even took Mum to the hospital for an appointment and waited with her for 13 hours. Your relatives will be in very good hands.

Son of Resident

My dad has been a resident at The Hollies since January 2020 and has a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia. He has always received dignified, kind and professional care there. He is always commenting on how helpful each staff member is to him. As a family, we’ve always felt welcomed and supported too by the staff which has made a huge difference to us all. It is a friendly atmosphere and we are always welcomed kindly when we visit. We are kept up to date with any issues that need to be addressed around Dad’s ongoing care. It really has become like a second family to Dad who has given him a very important quality of life at this stage in his dementia. We are very grateful for the care he receives there and can’t praise them highly enough, for all they have done and do do.

I have 13 years of experience in hospital and community health setting before coming to UK. I am a nurse and have degree in Physiotherapy. I have been working in the social health care setting for the last 15 years, and 10 years as a registered care home manager. I joined Regal in 2009 and started at the bottom and climbed the ladder as they say. I am passionate about my work and committed myself to promoting equality and diversity and promote the highest standard of care. I am a constant believer of constant improvement of knowledge and skills in which I always encourage and advocate all the staff to do the same. I just got my post graduate MSc in Dementia Studies to be better equipped and be effective in caring for people living with dementia. Working in care is not just a job, it's my passion, it's my vocation as it gives me fulfilment in making a difference in some one else's life.

I started working at the Hollies in 2013. I achieved my Level 2 Health & Social Care and became a Senior Healthcare Assistant. I took some time out of work to have my family and on return to work I became an Activity Coordinator. I love my new job role as I love being able to interact with the residents and I feel I can have a lot more one to one time with them. We all have great fun planning the activities together and it's really nice to give the residents something to look forward to. Some of our favourite activities are singing, arts & crafts and day trips out.
