The Hollies wins Dementia Carer of the Year at Kent Care Awards 2017!

A number of our team were nominated finalists at the second Kent Care Awards which were held at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone on the 29th September.

The Gala evening was a fantastic and well-deserved way to celebrate all that is positive about the Social Care Industry in Kent.

We were very honoured and excited that Senior Health Care Assistant Shelly Westley from our Residential Community, The Hollies in Tunbridge Wells, was announced as Dementia Carer of the Year. This means that Shelly will now progress to the Regional Finals of the Great British Care Awards in Brighton later on in the year.

Our other finalists on the night came from our Residential Community Ashcroft in Margate. Del Brown was for the second year running nominated for regional manager of the year, and also their Head Cook, Jane Thompson, who was nominated for Cook of the year.

Also finalists in the Care Team Award of the year was our Residential Community in Sevenoaks Alpine.

The recognition from the Kent Care Awards and KiCA is again a testament to our continued ethos of striving to provide person centred care in our Nursing and Residential Communities throughout Kent; where our resident’s smiles are our reward.
