Westlands Care Home
Our Community
Westlands Care Home provides Dementia and Residential Care in a Grade II Listed Building full of character. We have vast and established gardens which house our family of chickens and a playground for our cat! It is our aim to create an atmosphere in which our service users can live as normal a life as possible, to enhance their quality of life, and provide a safe and comfortable environment. At Westland’s we pride ourselves on our home-cooked meals with supplies from the local butcher and fruit / vegetable suppliers with all diets catered for.
All of our Health Care Assistants are recruited for their passion and dedication to care. We have high expectations which are facilitated by the outstanding training we provide which covers a broad spectrum of subjects and specialisms in Health and Social Care. Promoting a holistic approach to the daily health and social needs of our residents: it is not just a job but a vocation.
All staff are trained to NVQ level 2 as a minimum and Seniors to level 3. We accept challenging behaviour into the home as part of our registration and pride ourselves in our management of this. We have a good relationship with the community nursing team, local GP surgery and mental health team who support us well with our clients. We also have regular visits from a chiropodist, optician and hairdresser.
We provide Residential and Dementia care which can be accommodated on a Long Term: Short term: Respite and Convalescence basis. As a home we strive to provide high quality, person centred care tailored to our service users needs in a homely resident led environment. Driven by our leisure and lifestyle services where promotion of independence, dignity and individuality is a priority.
We pride ourselves in being a home from home environment offering family values. We support our clients and their family through what can be a challenging time for all and give quality care to include dignified person-centred end of life care ensuring wishes are upheld.
