Christmas at St Catherine's

Posted on 23rd December 2019

Here is another edition to our Christmas Blog series. Today’s is from our manager Amanda of our Nursing Home St Catherine’s in Sheffield.

“Here at St Catherines we organise our Christmas throughout the year making sure it’s as special as possible.

We have regular resident meetings on a Thursday where the residents get to pick out the activities they want to see within the home.

We have some wonderful families that support us with any event that we celebrate where they donate, assist on stalls and arrange raffles etc.

The families are invited into SUPPORT MEETINGS where we talk about upcoming events and any involvement they would like to see in the home and most of the time I have relatives on the event helping out.

This year our residents Christmas party is on the 20 th of December. Some special for this year’s party we have arranged a Shetland pony to come into the home to visit the residents, also one of the relatives is going to be SANTA and we are making a grotto, all the residents go to Santa for their presents which makes it so special.

Staff have gathered round so lots of schools and churches are coming in to sing Christmas carols to them all,

Most importantly we are a family here at St Catherines and the staff treat them as family so try to make it as special as possible.

We area a close team and we look forward to sharing the festive season with our residents, staff, families and health professionals. In fact everyone is welcome to join us at our very special St Catherine’s Christmas.”
